Biografie (woord)

Freddy Vinet is professor and director of the department of geography and development at Montpellier III University. For 15 years, he has been working on the assessment and management of natural hazards. He participated in numerous experiments on torrential floods in southern France (Aude, 1999, Gard, 2002) and on the post-disaster reconstruction after the torrential floods in the Mediterranean in 2003 and the tsunami of " Southeast Asia in 2004. He published, among others, The Flood Risk. Diagnosis and management at Lavoisier in 2010. His current research topics focus on the vulnerability of populations to natural threats and the evaluation of preventive measures.
