This book has been published for the 125th year of existence of Panorama Mesdag.

Panorama's have been a phenomenon for over 125 years. In the Netherlands the View on Scheveningen, painted by Hendrik Mesdag, is famous. There are about 34 historical panorama's left around the world. These gigantic painted panorama's from the 19th century show us travels in time and culture, viewed through the eyes of our forefathers. The book The Panorama Phenomenon and the exhibition in the Panorama Mesdag (open until november 27) shows us an overview of these old panorama's and of the modern forms of this phenomenon like panoramic photography, 3D panorama's and various artforms that are related to them.
