Biografie (woord)

Donna has over 20 years of clinical and research experience in the field of Electronic Assistive Technology. She has a degree in Electronic Engineering from Nottingham University and a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Kings College London. She worked in the Centre of Rehabilitation Engineering (CoRE) at King's for 7 years as a research fellow and course co-ordinator, while also leading a regional electronic AT service. Donna joined Chailey Clinical Services, and became head of their Rehabilitation Engineering Service in 2002. Her department designs, and manufactures assistive technology for people with complex disabilities. Donna is currently the deputy clinical director of Chailey Clinical Services and has been involved in research and equipment development throughout her career. Donna successfully set up the Surrey and Sussex regional communication aid service (Chailey Communication Aid Service (CCAS) in 2014.

She was a trustee of the Foundation for Assistive Technology (FAST) charity for 10 years and was a founder member of the organising committee for the annual national RAATE conference (Recent Advances in Assistive Technology and Engineering).
